Why Weekend Porta Potties Arrive Friday and Leave Monday

How delivery and pickup work for Saturday and Sunday events, and why the extra days do not add to your rental charge.
- Plain answers

- Same-day delivery
Porta potties are dropped Friday and picked up Monday because rental trucks run 6 days a week, Monday through Saturday, and stay parked on Sunday. A Saturday event gets a Friday or Saturday-morning drop, and a Sunday event gets a Saturday drop and Monday pickup. The extra days carry no extra rental charge.
Why does my porta potty arrive a day before the event?
A porta potty arrives 1 day before the event so it is in place, cleaned and stocked before guests show up. Drivers run set routes across about 80 miles of central Ohio. A Friday drop for a Saturday party means you are not waiting on a truck while setting up tables.
Delivery the day before also gives you time to check the spot. If the unit landed in the wrong place, you have a full day to call. Most hosts like knowing the restroom is handled before the stress of event day.
A Friday drop also helps if your spot is hard to reach. The driver has daylight and time to work around parked cars, gates and soft ground. On Saturday morning, guests and vendors may already be filling the driveway.
Event rentals are a flat rate, not per hour or per day. That is why an early drop does not cost more. You pay for the event, and the unit simply sits ready until it is needed.
Can I get delivery on Saturday morning instead?
Saturday morning delivery is available because trucks run Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A Saturday-morning drop works well for a Saturday afternoon or evening event. Book early, and ask for a drop window that ends well before your first guests arrive at the party.
Saturday morning makes sense if the unit cannot sit overnight. Examples include a public park pavilion, a shared parking lot, or a rented hall that locks up Friday night. For a private backyard, a Friday drop is usually easier.
What happens with a Sunday event if there are no Sunday trucks?
A Sunday event gets a Saturday delivery and a Monday pickup, because no trucks run on Sunday. Saturday delivery can happen anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and the unit stays through Sunday. The extra days come at no extra rental charge, since event rentals are priced flat.
This works for Sunday church picnics, family reunions and Sunday graduation parties. If you need the unit set up on Friday instead, ask when you book. A Friday drop for a Sunday event is fine too.
What if I need it gone Sunday night?
Sunday night pickup is not offered. The earliest pickup after a Sunday event is Monday. If the unit must leave the site by a set time on Monday, tell us when you book so we can plan the route.
Monday pickup works for most homes and churches. For a rented park shelter, ask the park office if the unit can stay overnight Sunday.
How does a typical weekend rental run from start to finish?
A typical weekend rental runs in 5 steps: book with your ZIP and date, mark the spot, get a Friday or Saturday drop, hold your event, and leave the unit for Monday pickup. Nobody needs to be home for delivery or pickup, as long as the truck can reach the spot.
- Book with your ZIP or address, event date, unit type, number of units and guest count.
- Mark the spot on flat, firm ground within about 15 feet of where a truck can park.
- The unit arrives Friday or Saturday, cleaned and stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer and deodorizer.
- Your event runs. Mid-event cleaning is not included unless you add it.
- The unit is picked up the next business day, which is Monday for weekend events.
Leave gate codes or lock details in your booking notes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before delivery. See the rental terms and cancellation policy for details.
How far ahead should I book for July 4 or Labor Day weekend?
Book porta potties 1 to 3 weeks ahead for July 4, Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. These holiday weekends fill Friday and Saturday delivery routes fast, so booking early gives you the drop day you want. When the holiday falls on a Monday, pickup moves to Tuesday, the next business day.
Fourth of July parties are some of the busiest weekends of the year. When July 4 lands midweek, many hosts hold their party the weekend before or after. Either way, call as soon as you know your date.
| Event day | Usual drop | Usual pickup | Book ahead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saturday | Friday or Saturday morning | Monday | About 1 week |
| Sunday | Saturday (or Friday) | Monday | About 1 week |
| Holiday weekend (July 4, Labor Day) | Friday or Saturday | Next business day | 1 to 3 weeks |

Can I still get a porta potty if I waited until the last minute?
Same-day delivery is often possible if you call by 12 p.m. (noon) Monday through Saturday. Same-day delivery depends on open trucks and units, and any same-day fee is quoted before you book. Next-day delivery is the normal fast option for a weekend event.
If your Saturday event snuck up on you, call Friday before noon. Read more about same-day porta potty delivery in Columbus. You can also check how many units you need with the guest count sizing guide, then call (614) 295-9744.
