What should you know before renting a porta potty in Athens?
Before renting a porta potty in Athens, check where the unit will sit, any HOA or park rules near Uptown Athens, and whether a Athens event that week will tie up units. The answers below draw on Ohio University and Ohio Pawpaw Festival.
How far is Athens from Columbus for delivery?
Athens is about 75 miles southeast of downtown Columbus on US-33, around 80 minutes away. That puts it near the outer edge of our service area. Same-day delivery is rare at that distance, so book Athens rentals at least a day ahead.
How does Ohio University move-in affect Athens deliveries?
Ohio University move-in in late August brings heavy traffic and parking limits around campus. Many rental houses get remodeled in summer before students return. Schedule work units and party units so delivery does not land on move-in days, when trucks can get stuck in campus traffic.

What about the Athens Halloween Block Party?
The Athens Halloween Block Party closes Court Street on a Saturday in late October. Uptown roads and parking are blocked off while the event runs. Plan any nearby deliveries for earlier in the week, before closures begin, and expect pickup after streets reopen.
Do steep Athens streets affect placement?
Athens is very hilly, and many rental houses have front steps and no off-street parking. The unit needs a level spot the truck can reach within about 15 feet. Street-level pads and driveways usually work better than back yards up a flight of stairs.
When is the Ohio Pawpaw Festival?
The Ohio Pawpaw Festival takes place each September at Lake Snowden near Albany, west of Athens. Rural roads around the lake get crowded that weekend with festival traffic. Private gatherings and campsites on nearby land should book their units early and choose firm, level spots.

Where should a porta potty go at a Athens home or job site?
Athens has steep streets, narrow lots and many houses with front steps. Pick a level spot near the street or driveway rather than a sloped yard. On rural lots outside town, avoid steep grass slopes and soft ground near creeks, which stay wet for days after rain.
The full placement checklist covers gates, slopes and septic lids.
What jobs and events need porta potties in Athens?
Athens work often means summer turnovers on student rental houses, from new bathrooms to roofs. Older homes on the East and West sides get remodels. Outside town, crews build new homes on rural lots and replace septic systems, and these sites need weekly service.
